Demolition of a 76 tones weight and 50 m length metallic element

From 5th to 6th May 2010 our company carried-out a very complex operation at „HOLCIM CIMENT CAMPULUNG ROMANIA” consisting of the demolition of a 76 tones weight and 50 m length metallic element, from a height of 40 m. The operation, which is part of a larger contract that deals with the old Conveying Bridge demolition, was accomplished through the suspension of the element with a 500 tone crane and cutting the support frames. Next days the works will continue with the demolition of the remaining reinforced concrete elements. Photo demolition

The demolition of the fabric factory in Moreni

On October 1 2009 we started demolishing the former fabric factory in Moreni. The work will last for 4 weeks and the total volume of demolition and evacuation its about 10.500 cubic meters. Because the factory is located downtown and has a height of about 20 m, it will be demolished by mechanical means, using a long arm excavator and hydraulic scissors. Photo demolition

Spectacular demolition in Holcim Romania, Campulung Muscel

On September 19th 2009, our specialists demolished by explosion a tower block body with a height of 58 m. After a training that lasted for 3 weeks, during which there were manually removed some constructive elements from the top floors, the building was free of doors and windows and the anti-dust and anti-scattering material dislodged by the explosion protection was made, the loads of explosives were set according to the project and then were placed the staples and were made connections with the detonating cables. There was just one falling option because the building was surrounded on three sides by other buildings (about 3 m away) and on the falling direction, the area had exact size of the collapsed building’s plan. The calculations proved to be correct and the demolition was a success. Demolition’s film.

Holcim Campulung – an article published in the newspaper “Click” on the 27 May 2009

“Burn it! Fire!” shouts Eduard Smau, the coordinator of the demolition team, and he ignites the fuse. In the next second there is a brief flash, followed by a deafening boom and the colossus made of concrete crumbles in a big cloud of dust. “ The building demolished by controlled explosion fall exactly as set in the project. The neighboring buildings, the gas pipelines, water or electrical installations aren’t supposed to be affected.”, explained Daniel Mares, CEO of the industrial construction and demolition company, “Implozia Company”, from Bucharest. “Everything is calculated at millimeter and the explosion charge is positioned exactly where it should. The latest action took place in Campulung Muscel, Prahova county, where we demolished a 52 meter high building, in a factory yard”, tells us team coordinator, Eduard Smau. “Preparing the building for demolition may take 2-3 weeks. You have to clean the inside, remove the windows and the doors, you have to realize an antidust protection. Then, the resistance columns are being drilled as planed, the structure is fixed with several loads of explosive and also it is being inserted a detonator. To reduce the dispersal of the material resulted from the explosion, around the resistance columns and outside the building, we install wire nets, textile nets and carpet resistant rubber. The explosion is so strong that, if we wouldn’t take this safety measures, we would be hit by stones, concrete fragments and metal. The building demolished in Campulung Muscel was “cut” mechanically in the middle. The pieces that remained standing were demolished by controlled explosions, using dynamite, so that the right building would fall in front and the left one would fall on a side. “Before the explosion, we have to enclose the perimeter and restrict the access in the area. There shall no longer enter nobody! Then, the fuse is lighted and the explosion is triggered.”, continues Daniel Mares, the CEO of the company. The entire operation takes seconds. You hear a string bang, followed by thick clouds of dust and wastes and you see how the building falls like a castle of cards. “It’s a beautiful job. We like to play with fire!”, jokes Daniel Mares. “After the explosion , we go in with the equipment and clean the place. The area must remain clean, to make room for the other construction. We have four pyrotechnics. The demolition team has for pyrotechnics, those who handle explosions and a chief of building sites. “ Two of our people have worked in the Ministry of National Defense, as officers of genius”, told us the CEO, Daniel Mares. The demolition of the building that belongs to SC ALECSANDRI ESTATES SRL

On the 01.06.2009 will began the demolition works of a building that belongs to SC ALECSANDRI ESTATES SRL. The job is extremely complex because the building (basement + semi-basement + ground floor + 4 floors) is located in the downtown of Bucharest, in a very crowded area, with narrow streets and a high density of buildings. The works of preparing the demolition, protect the neighborhoods, fencing and signing require special attention. The demolition works will be performed using manual and mechanical means, which do not produce strong vibrations, starting with the building’s roofs, respecting the technical conditions that are applied in order to protect the neighboring buildings. The organization of the site will be realized without the occupation of the public domain or the neighboring properties, with the immediate evacuation of the waste. The execution term is 3 months.
